Rev. Quantá Crews was a neighborhood auntie long before she was appointed to the Arizona House of Representatives for Legislative District 26 by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors on June 5, 2023. She is the one who shows up, checks in, and makes sure everyone is good. The Tía leaning out the window, reminding the children the streetlights are on and it is time to come home and be safe inside.
She serves as an associate minister at the Historic Tanner Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Phoenix, Arizona, where her work is grounded in love and community. She coordinates the No Limits Special Needs Ministry and leads the Richard Allen Young Adult Council, centering those too often left out.
With a professional background as a real and personal property appraiser, Rev. Crews has seen how inequitable tax policies create real barriers for families. That experience fuels her fight for fair, just legislation that keeps everyday people from being priced out and pushed aside.
She believes real change starts with understanding how government works. You can often find her in the community sharing what she has learned from her work in public agencies and helping others navigate public systems. She pushes for informed, people-centered decisions that reflect the needs of the whole community.
She serves as Democratic Caucus Co-Whip, Ranking Member on the Public Safety and Law Enforcement Committee, and a member of the Ways and Means Committee. Her leadership is grounded in the pace and power of the community she represents, and she brings lived experience into every room to shape policy and push back on harm.
Outside of her legislative work, she enjoys dancing with her sons and writing poetry. She leads with heart, stands with her community, and sets the pace for lasting systemic change.
